As much as I hate it when editor's whine about it, this book did indeed read like a night of gaming. There was next to no characterization, and I didn't care for most of the secondary characters, what little I got to know about them.
However, I did like the verbal sparring between Artemis and Jarlaxle.
I'm looking forward to reading "Patriarch" mainly because I like Artemis and Jarlaxle far more than the whiney Drizzt (which doesn't mean I hate Drizzt, just that he goes on and on about the meaning of life, and worrying about his friends, and what to cook for dinner tonight, and which monster to skewer first, and what kind of toilet paper to buy, and did I mention the meaning of life?).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32528082.post-63402828304960039252007-02-03T16:57:00.000-05:002007-02-03T16:57:00.000-05:00Hey Ty!

My lack of posting on my own and others doesn't mean I'm not reading them, though it is often at work now, and I cannot post from there. So I sent myself an email reminder to come ask you what you thought of Promise?

I don't know if you ever read my review of it, either on my blog or on SFReader, but I wasn't too happy with it.Rogue Blades Entertainmenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03883732716295253790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32528082.post-36651685321997100192007-01-23T18:29:00.000-05:002007-01-23T18:29:00.000-05:00yes. i only read it once, then made the mistake of...yes. i only read it once, then made the mistake of donating it because we were remodeling the home. moon made a strong heroine. it's a trilogy, but the deeds of paks includes them all:

http://www.amazon.com/Deed-Paksenarrion-Novel-Elizabeth-Moon/dp/0671721046/sr=1-12/qid=1169594445/ref=sr_1_12/104-6165705-9232731?ie=UTF8&s=books

i plan on buying and rereading again.cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13911692378593865493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32528082.post-60414107273847324202007-01-23T16:28:00.000-05:002007-01-23T16:28:00.000-05:00Cyn, I'm not familiar with the work.
