Big news for me: Story accepted

My short story, "Deep in the Land of the Ice and Snow," has been accepted into the Flashing Swords anthology, "The Return of the Sword: A New Age of Heroic Adventure."

I'm really excited about this publication, and about my story being in it. There are some pretty impressive names already slotted for the anthology, but I won't give it all away here, at least not until all the authors have been named.

You can find out more at the SFReader.com forums.

Awesome, dude ...

What can you tell us about the story, without spoiling anything?

Hey! I posted a congrats here yesterday but it didn't make it through. I've been fighting lost internet service for 3-4 days but seem to back today. Anyway . . .

Thanks for the story, Ty. I'm glad to be the first to publish a Belgad tale.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I'm looking forward to seeing this one in print. The world gets to meet Belgad for the first time.

Steve, to put it in a little context, "Deep in the Land of the Ice and Snow" is a tale of Belgad's youth, when he's about 20 years old, roughly 30 years before the beginning of my trilogy. Let's just say Belgad is far, far away from the man he will become by the time of the trilogy, but in some ways not so different. I have some ideas for a Belgad trilogy (yes, it has to be a trilogy because the story is so long and somewhat complicated), and I've considered using this story as a first chapter or prologue. Of course that's years down the road, if I can ever sell THIS current trilogy.
